"From every human being there rises a light that reaches straight to heaven. And when two souls are destined to find each other, their two streams of light flow together and a single bright light goes forth from their united being," is from the Ba'al Shem Tov. We see columns in many pictures of historical ketubot, representing the creation of a new home. The archway represents a doorway, a new beginning, and the fish, which can represent fertility, in this case had a particular connection to the bride's grandmother.
